Job Description
A banker’s main responsibilities will be as a teller and/or personal banker. Customers and bank personnel must be encountered frequently in person, via written correspondence, or over the phone in this role. At all times, strong customer service abilities must be used. This job may have many officers reporting to it. In order to provide comprehensive financial services to consumers, the Banker interacts often with other departments. Work results are evaluated, and performance is measured against defined objectives. The amount of physical exertion required is above normal.

Qualifications:

- Maintaining a professional look and maintaining a well-organized workstation will assist you in preparing for everyday interactions.
- Handle all traditional financial transactions that customers provide in person, by drive-up, night depository, mail, or digital means.
- To obtain a deeper knowledge of the customer’s goals, ask appropriate questions and listen to their responses.
- Performing a broad variety of tasks as assigned by the branch or department, including but not limited to: bank deposits and cash recovery, opening and closing the office and vault, report writing, and any other job duties needed to guarantee the smooth running of the department.
- Purchase and sell money from the vault as needed to maintain cash limits in teller drawers under control.
- This person is responsible for making sure the bank’s assets are protected by properly identifying and tracking all of the bank’s clients, ensuring the privacy of their personal information, and performing daily checks and balances.
- Customer-facing sales of consumer banking goods and services help the Bank’s overall sales efforts.
- Be aware of branch operations to ensure that all rules and procedures are followed.
- Check the endorsement, get correct identification, and make sure the check is legitimate.
Skills:
- To succeed in this position, you must be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously while maintaining a nice demeanor and professionalism.
- A minimum of 12 to 18 months of customer service and sales experience is required, with prior banking experience a plus.
- He or she will be taught how to operate the ATM card scanner and teller machine as well as other banking equipment and programs such as SEI Trust System and Streamline.
- It is desirable that you have one year of retail or sales experience.
- Know the roles of retail divisions that directly affect your employment (deposit operations, client care, records management, etc.)
