Job Description
A School Bus Driver provides safe, polite, and timely transportation for all kids between their homes and schools. Maintains a safe and clean environment when transporting pupils in line with state legislation and department of education standards.

Qualifications:
- Operate an allocated route with the utmost care so that passengers may go where they need to go on schedule while also providing a safe and timely service.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times by following to your workplace’s dress code as well as your personal hygiene.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its special equipment and submit required documentation to administration
- Maintain route papers, including time revisions, and notify the supervisor immediately. Maintain good work habits by finishing daily duties and extra trips on time.
- Maintain the allocated bus in a clean and hygienic condition at all times by sweeping, wiping down all seats and the roof, and washing it.
- Employing safe and responsible practices, operate an adapted transportation lift to board and release challenged persons.
- Always promote the goodwill of the firm by cooperating with coworkers, supervisors, and other passengers.
- Complete all relevant paperwork and reports for each vehicle before, during, and after each trip. Operate the vehicle and stop for passengers in a safe and responsible manner.
- In order to maintain safety, limit wear and prolong the useful life of the assigned vehicle and its component components, follow the company’s instructions for proper maintenance.
- Make sure to keep track of your car keys and fueling slip receipts, as well as the pre- and post-trip documents needed by your supervisor.
Skills:
- Class B or higher commercial driver’s license required, as well as endorsements for passenger and school bus.
- In certain models of school buses, the driver steps on the emergency brake pedal or presses the air brake button before loading or unloading kids, then pulls the lever or depresses the air brake button to release the emergency brake.
- Driving experience dating back at least three years is essential. There had only been two moving violations and one preventable accident in the prior three years.
- This position requires someone who can work well with others, is adaptable, and can step in when required.
- Capable of lifting, storing, disassembling/reassembling wheelchairs weighing up to 40 pounds, as well as any other ambulatory equipment required by the passenger.
