Job Description

As a Safety Coordinator with us, you will be assisting the Safety Manager with the coordination and creation of emergency drills and exercises, the review and implementation of after-action plans related to real incidents and/or drills/exercises, and other regulatory obligations.

Qualifications:

  • Participates in and leads safety meetings. On a monthly basis, plan, prepare, and present or organize the delivery of safety-related training to a number of departments.
  • This job requires dependable attendance, the ability to accomplish jobs safely, and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Assist in updating and auditing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Processes (SOPs), and Lockout Procedures, as well as ensuring that employees are properly trained in these procedures.
  • Assist in putting the project’s safety strategy and zero-accident culture into action (s)
  • Managers and supervisors are advised and assisted in establishing a safe work environment. Purchase, usage, and installation of safety or hazard control equipment is recommended.
  • Develops and implements a variety of programs, including hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications/SDS, ergonomics, and others. Audiometric testing is performed, provided, or arranged on an annual basis.
  • On issues like worker’s compensation and fitness for duty determinations, employees, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders are counselled and given technical help.
  • Ensures that all required safety-related equipment and system testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs are performed on time. Assures that ILSM risks are recognized and deficiencies are corrected in line with policy.
  • Assess the workplace for hazards on a regular basis and implement hazard controls before an accident happens. Determine whether any employees are participating in potentially dangerous safety behaviors and, if so, whether more training is necessary.
  • Conduct accident investigations and work with management and staff to develop preventative measures. Implement the approach and monitor the outcomes.
