Job Description
A School Bus Driver provides safe, polite, and timely transportation for all kids between their homes and schools. Maintains a safe and clean environment when transporting pupils in line with state legislation and department of education standards.

Qualifications:
- Operate an adapted transportation lift in a safe and responsible manner to board and release disabled individuals.
- Inspect each vehicle before, during, and after each trip using proper procedures, and fill out all appropriate papers and reports. Use safe and responsible practices to drive the vehicle and stop to enable people to board and exit.
- Safely drive a vehicle on a given route in a timely and safe way, delivering people to and from defined places, as well as performing associated operations.
- Maintain, read, and comprehend route papers, including time adjustments, and promptly alert supervisor of any modifications. Maintain excellent work habits by being on time and being absent as little as possible for daily responsibilities and additional travels.
- Maintain a respectable look, which involves dressing appropriately for the job, grooming neatly, and maintaining sufficient hygiene.
- Always promote the company’s goodwill by collaborating with employees, managers, and other passengers as needed.
- In order to maintain safety, limit wear and prolong the useful life of the assigned vehicle and its component components, follow the company’s instructions for proper maintenance.
- Inspect all of the vehicle’s special equipment before and after each journey and provide the relevant papers to the administration, as well.
- Keep hold of your vehicle keys, gasoline receipts, and any other documentation required by your boss before and during your trip.
- Clean and sanitize the allocated bus at all times by mopping, cleaning all seats and the top, sweeping, and washing the bus.
Skills:
- Before kids load or unload the bus, step on the emergency brake pedal or depress the air brake button.
- Three years of driving experience is required for a valid driver’s license. Only two traffic infractions and one avoidable collision happened three years before.
- Wheelchairs with a maximum weight of 40 pounds can be lifted, stored, disassembled, and reassembled by the passenger.
- This role demands someone who can collaborate well with others, be versatile, and step in when necessary.
- Passenger and School Bus endorsements must be on a commercial driver’s license that is valid for at least two years.
