Part-Time Operations Budget Analyst – Muri
Job Description
The Budget Manager is in charge of all programmatic components of the program’s internal and external reporting. This role is the principal financial interface with program employees, and it will lead efforts to organize financial information alignment among executive, program, and development personnel.

Qualifications:
- It is in charge of overseeing the City’s yearly budget planning and review process, as well as the creation and monitoring of budget standards, rules, and calendars. It also publishes the final authorized City budget.
- Analyzes trends and predicts financial condition; produces short and long-term income and expenditure predictions, and multiyear forecast models; assesses revenue and expenditure patterns, compared to budget and projections, uncovered revenue control concerns and recommended budget modifications.
- Employees are routinely contacted to discuss and address priorities, workload, resource allocation, technology challenges, quality standards, and services; employees are also monitored and evaluated on a regular basis to ensure they are doing their assigned jobs.
- VP&S Office of Budget and the department’s budgetary concerns. Assist with the development of the budget story for the department.
- According on this person’s analysis of data from numerous departments, they then recommend how much money each department should get.
- Incumbents are required to work with a department operating team on a short- or long-term assignment, building trust and use analytical criteria to track progress. The ability to set and adhere to deadlines is an absolute need.
- Respond accurately to queries about assigned program areas from both internal and external sources, collaborating with stakeholders as needed to ensure timely responses.
- By partnering with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Finance, you will be able to support the assigned divisions’ operational and financial requirements, as well as grant processing (OF).
- Completing tasks not specifically included in the job description, but which fall within a broad occupational category and correspond to a responsibility level often associated with the employee’s line of work.
- Budget problems are probed, financial data and trends are assessed and analyzed, future resource availability is forecasted, and corrective solutions are suggested.
Skills:
- To be considered for this role, you must have four (4) years of professional management experience in budget and grant preparation/administration.
- Good interpersonal and organizational abilities, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced atmosphere, are required, as is a minimum of three years of related experience. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher), as well as graphics/desktop and Internet applications, are desirable abilities for this role; the ability to work effectively with people in a team situation is also required.
- Massive datasets and the capacity to work with integrated software and business intelligence tools.
- Having a master’s degree from a college or university that is recognized by the accrediting body is required for this job.
- Expertise in budgeting at the project level, allocating resources wisely, and preparing annual financial reports in a large business are all desirable.
