The Safety Coordinator maintains a close check on everything to ensure no harmful circumstances arise. Creates policies to improve workplace health and safety awareness (OSH). Qualifications:
- Conduct accident investigations and collaborate with managers and employees to devise measures to avoid future mishaps. Implement the strategy and keep an eye on the results.
- Managers and supervisors are counselled and assisted in establishing a safe work environment. Safety or hazard control equipment should be acquired, utilized, and installed.
- Among other things, develops and implements hearing conservation, chemical inventory/control, hazardous communications/SDS, ergonomics, and other programs. Audiometric testing is planned, supplied, or organized on a yearly basis.
- Safety meetings are organized and facilitated. Plan, prepare, and present or organize the delivery of safety-related training to a number of departments on a monthly basis.
- Assess the workplace for hazards on a regular basis and install hazard controls before an accident happens. Determine whether any employees are participating in potentially dangerous safety behaviors and, if so, whether more training is necessary.
- Employees, supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders are counselled and provided technical support on issues such as worker’s compensation and fitness for duty judgments.
- Ensures that all required safety-related equipment and system testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs are performed on time. Ensures that problems are evaluated for ILSM risk and fixed according to policy.
- Assist with the project’s safety strategy and zero-accident culture’s implementation (s)
- Assist with the updating and auditing of Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Lockout Procedures, as well as ensuring that personnel are appropriately taught in them.
- This position necessitates consistent and predictable attendance, as well as the ability to do tasks properly and adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
