Full-Time Night Proofreader/Research Librarian Fellow – Patiala
Job Description
The Proofreader is tasked with checking all departmental output, such as edits, new content, conversions, and citation tables, for errors. The individual performs proofreading duties on assigned documents, including checking for errors in grammar, syntax, spelling, style, and formatting and making suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:
- Five plus years of proofreading experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Interact with staff, lawyers and management to understand work assignments and communicate any changes that need to be made to the documents.
- Carefully peruse the source material or drafts in search of spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes, and flag them for revision.
- Able to multitask effectively and exhibits superior communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Send in your corrected papers and check your corrections against the original.
- Don’t lose track of everything that’s been revised and proofread.
- Use technology, such as electronic work logs, instant messaging, tracking changes for comments, and ChangePro for electronic review, to rapidly accomplish proofreading and copyediting services.
- It is important to proofread documents to ensure they are error-free and presentable. Use a standardized proofreading code to draw attention to problematic areas in the document.
- Correct errors in spelling, grammar, or word choice in the source material by conducting research and making the necessary changes. Assist the department manager in creating and disseminating any relevant style or writing guidelines.
- You must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and online savvy is a plus.
