The Medical Office Manager is responsible for assisting in the acquisition, administration, and collection of patient service revenue. The attainment of yearly and recurring targets for major statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance as well as for the overall financial performance of the business are critical duties. The Medical Office Manager is required to exhibit a constant degree of excellence in all departmental activities via plans and actions. Consistency of purpose and continual improvement are key components of this standard, as is providing the best level of quality service feasible to all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • develop a sense of community among the members of the medical staff office as well as the medical staff service department and the hospital’s medical staff. In all areas, professionalism and a dedication to providing excellent service.
  • Manages daily operations and organizes work activities at physician offices and clinic locations. Schedules and call-offs are managed by this position. Assures that enough office space, supplies, equipment, and support are available and maintained for medical personnel and patient care.
  • Manage and coordinate with Information Technology to prepare and verify financial reports, as well as to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information produced.
  • After initial processing, ensure that all payment appeals from the Provider Dispute Process are completed, and communicate with outside payer organizations to address reimbursement concerns in a timely way.
  • Patient confidentiality is maintained in line with system-wide and department-specific rules and procedures (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, Department of Health, etc.).
  • Assists top management in developing budgets and ensuring that operations are aligned with corporate goals and fulfill performance and budget targets.
  • Set long-term financial targets, such as the number of days in accounts receivable (A/R) and the age of accounts, as well as the payroll and direct expenditure for each cost center.
  • taking on the responsibilities of a company’s workforce while also doing duties such as recruiting new employees, training them, and firing those who fall short of expectations.
  • Orders office and medical supplies and makes sure there are enough of them at all times. Assists the Clinic Administrator with budget preparation and keeping to it, as well.
  • In this job, you will help doctors and patients with a wide range of tasks that deal with patient care management, organization, and communication.

Skills:

  • Requires a high level of management abilities, including organizational and communication skills, the ability to handle several projects while keeping an eye on deadlines, good attention-to-detail, and the capacity to preserve confidentiality while working with sensitive material.
  • Accuracy in problem-solving and familiarity with organizational practices are necessary.
  • Sufficient ability in speaking, reading, and writing English is required to execute the fundamental responsibilities of this profession, particularly those affecting patient or staff safety or security.
  • The applicant must be acquainted with patient registration, billing, accounts receivable (AR), and cash management regulations, as well as health insurance procedures, business office operations, and industry standards for revenue resolution strategies in the health care sector.
  • One year after commencing employment at a medical staffing agency, a CPMSM certification must be achieved. After then, continuing education credits must be taken to keep it current (CEs).
