Job Description
The Machinist is responsible for loading components into the machine, cycling it, and detecting machine defects such as worn or broken cutting blades. The job manages production lots, communicates with coworkers about production runs, and keeps the workplace safe, orderly, and clean.

Qualifications:
- Configure and operate manual equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders.
- Make use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, and Confined Spaces (PPE)
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment to install new, repaired, or replacement components to guarantee that it works properly and safely.
- Problems with tools, materials, software, equipment, or parts specs should be investigated and remedied. Recognize and propose improvements to machine performance by altering component specifications.
- Using painstaking measurement, ensure that the finished goods are free of flaws and fulfill all required criteria.
- Work with programming engineering to share technical knowledge about the production of high-quality components.
- A machinist is in charge of setting up and operating a range of manual and CNC machine equipment, as well as doing standard shop calculations relating to project dimensions, tooling, and feeds, as well as employing hand tools and precision measuring devices.
- Analyze sample components, blueprints, drawings, and engineering data in order to ascertain the manufacturing processes and sequences of operations necessary, as well as the dimensions and tolerances of the products.
- To create the specified numbers of component components, perform progressive turning, drilling, milling, and tapping operations of above-average complexity.
- Plans and organizes work by interpreting and applying directions and requirements, both verbally and in writing.
Skills:
- Associates degree in mechanical, automotive, or machining, or two years of related work experience
- Programming and knowledge of manual, semi-automatic, or automated equipment (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Ability to perform precise measurements using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, drop gages, and gage blocks).
- Must be able to operate in adverse weather conditions, including temperatures as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
- Extensive working knowledge of machine technology, construction, heavy industrial machinery, and power/control devices, as well as familiarity with metals’ working properties
