When the on-duty Chef or Sous Chefs are absent, this job serves as the lead cook at each site and may perform basic supervisory duties. A cook ensures that delicious cuisine is prepared for visitor restaurants, employee dining rooms, and catered special occasions. Qualifications:
- Meets the company’s scheduling requirements, which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- As needed, assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines to ensure that all kitchen areas, tools, and utensils are clean.
- All kitchen facilities, such as storage shelves, passageways, workstations, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers, are organized and cleaned.
- In the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, is in charge of ensuring that the kitchen is safe and efficient.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds, and carrying up to 30 pounds, as well as standing and walking frequently, are all vital.
- To accurately plan production requirements and procure supplies and equipment, tastes products, analyses menus, estimates food requirements, verifies output, and keeps records.
- The Cook must be meticulous, well-dressed, and professional, as well as a team player who collaborates effectively.
- Produce high-quality hot and cold meals as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Make short and long-term cash management strategies, as well as monthly and yearly cash flow estimates.
- A cook is in charge of setting up, food preparation, organization, sanitation, and manufacturing of food and beverage items, as well as shutting and storing each work station.
Skills:
- A year of experience as a Cook in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen is necessary.
- The capacity to prioritize tasks and collaborate with a diverse group of supervisors.
- If you are 18 years of age or older, you must be able to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, prior employer, education, and personal references, unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it.
- It is necessary to have a high school diploma, a GED, or an equivalent.
- Must adhere to all state and executive chef-specified health department and food safety regulations, including HACCP and ServSafe concepts.
