Job Description

The File Clerk is in charge of receiving and recording any monies made to the company. The File Clerk supports the Receivables department by making sure that all laws and regulations are followed and that receivables are collected accurately and on schedule. The File Clerk is the company’s point of contact for all suppliers, agencies, and other departments that may need information, and they prepare and deliver that information to higher management. Journal entries and reconciliations are performed in this role, as well as checks to make sure that correct procedures and standards are followed when it comes to the collection of corporate debts.

Qualifications:

  • All areas of file management are accurately and confidentially handled by a File Clerk working under direct supervision.
  • is able to do statistical analysis, as well as keep track of work flow charts, spreadsheets, and other data.
  • responsibilities include greeting and assisting customers with a variety of issues, such as general complaints or concerns.
  • Confirms data against existing records, updates records or ledgers, and issues equipment.
  • Reading source documents like canceled checks and sales reports and entering data into appropriate data fields or onto tapes or disks for later use.
  • Client applications must be closely monitored at all times in order to ensure that all policies and procedures are kept up to date. Determine whether or not a claim is true.
  • The client’s income is evaluated, and the amount of care he or she is entitled to is determined. Clients may be asked to provide necessary papers in order to preserve their eligibility.
  • Be sure to compile, sort, and double-check your data before entering it into the system! Data input errors may be found and fixed, or you can tell your supervisors of any issues you uncover. Use a validation template or cross-check the data against the source document to look for errors.
  • Executes normal clerical and typing activities associated with the processing of a variety of office items, including form letters, requisitions, and envelopes.
  • Create and maintain efficient and accurate records for one’s private and corporate affairs as a potential duty.

Skills:

  • This employee must be capable of typing documents such as reports and schedules on their own computer keyboard.
  • It is necessary to work correctly and with attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
  • Obtain a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or gain one to three months of comparable experience and/or training; or obtain an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • It is essential to be able to handle personnel with a wide range of personalities, looks, and communication preferences.
  • To be able to do this job well, you need to know about accounting, database, internet, inventory, spreadsheet, and word processing software, as well as order processing and payroll systems.
