Full-Time Landscape Designer/Landscape Architect – Angat
Job Description
In this role, you will give professional experience to the department; engage in the examination of planned projects in the City, including Landscape Plans, Irrigation Plans, and specifications. You’ll be responsible for site inspections and construction administration to make sure all work is done in accordance with city codes and requirements. In addition to writing and researching landscape code updates, this role will collaborate with both internal and external divisions, and it will provide proposals for new approaches to design.

Qualifications:
- Designs County Park facilities in response to input from the general public as well as from governmental entities such as the Department of Environmental Protection and local governments.
- Verification of compliance with zoning code criteria of all final landscape and irrigation plan assessments via collaboration between planning staff and other departments
- In addition to construction administration and inspections, the landscape architect assists the department with field investigations to gather information for design and/or facilities-related work, facility/site condition evaluation and inspection, ADA compliance assessments, narrative scoping programs for construction projects with program requirements and cost estimates, and narrative scoping programs for construction projects with program requirements and cost estimates.
- Assemble an architectural and engineering team that will collaborate to develop a sustainable and resilient design that will meet regulatory standards while also adding value to the client’s bottom line.
- Execute on-site landscape inspections to verify final landscaping and irrigation designs are compliant before issuing a certificate of occupancy or releasing cash.
- Ensure that hillside overlay properties are in compliance with the limits of disturbance fencing, landscape retention or removal, onsite grading, and preservation zones by conducting a site inspection.
- Knowledge with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and LandFX is required.
- Administrating and participating in the selection process for consultants; preparing performance standards and cost estimates for consultants; supervising and coordinating the work of consultants; evaluating consultant’s performance and work output; reviewing progress payments
- Community engagement sessions, public meetings, or internal meetings for park initiatives are coordinated and led by the Parks and Recreation department, board offices, community organizations, or other stakeholders.
- Identify limits and possibilities for growth by conducting and recording field research.
Skills:
- The capacity to plan, develop, and implement landscape projects in accordance with established landscape architectural concepts and methods.
- An individual in this role must be able to multitask, as well as self-manage their calendars in accordance with project management criteria or milestones.
- Accreditation from a recognized university in landscape architecture or a similar field. Experience at a government agency for at least one year is recommended, but not required. A four-year college degree may not be enough to get a job in the field.
- Making landscape architecture with the use of new technology, design ideas, and engineering principles is a rewarding experience.
- In charge of overseeing the production of contract plans, specifications and estimates, bid packages, and any other contract papers that may be necessary for the construction projects assigned to him.
