Qualifications:
- Arranges for the safe lifting and lowering of all items, machinery, and/or equipment to and from working platforms, trucks, streets, floors, and other levels of buildings or vessels.
- As a Rigger, you’re responsible for setting up heavy lifting equipment and making sure that it can be utilized safely by employing pulleys, ropes, and hoists. This individual engages in physical labor throughout the course of business.
- Drilling, fastening, and testing the operation of head blocks, mule blocks, sheaves, and winches, as well as counterweighted, winched, and dead hanging system components.
- Inspects, tests, and maintains rigging equipment such as planks, fiber ropes, wire ropes, chains, swing scaffolds, and so on.
- Stabilizing weights to rigging using manual and power equipment is the primary function of a rigging specialist
- Consistent punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in compliance with company policies are required for efficient performance of this function.
- Installation of hardware in existing buildings, hanging pipes, beams, or tracks, and hardware in concrete, steel, wood, and block walls are only a few of the specific responsibilities in this project.
- The rigger must operate at heights ranging from twelve to sixty feet from the ground, and may often need the usage of safety equipment and climbing.
- However, even though individual initiative and judgment are required for much of the labor in rigging installation, functioning as a team becomes more important with time.
- By signaling or vocally guiding individuals engaged in lifting and moving weights, ensures the safety of workers and commodities.
Skills:
- Make judgments on safe rigging methods and procedures based on authorized sources and your own “”common sense”” judgment.
- Carry up to 50 pounds of various equipment, supplies, and components on your own without assistance.
- At least five years of experience as a Rigger in the last ten years, completing the tasks and obligations outlined under “Duties and Responsibilities.”
- Standing, walking, crawling, stooping and/or sitting are some of the common tasks that an employee must accomplish while at work.
- To be appointed, candidates must pass a drug test. During the course of their work, riggers are subjected to random drug and alcohol tests.
