Job Description
Blast hole survey and assay data are integrated by the Geologist into daily ore control decisions. Maintaining the integrity of the blast hole database, aiding in the development of month-end mine production reports, and monitoring resource model vs. mined performance metrics are some of the responsibilities of this job.

Qualifications:
- Mastering Microsoft Word, Excel, and database software like ArcGIS, CAD, and SQL is essential for success in the job market. Basic building and mechanical knowledge are useful in understanding remedial systems.
- Submittals for Solid Waste & Waste Cleanup must be examined by District or Division authorities for geological and risk assessment documents Analyze site repair plans and papers given to you by supervisors or managers.
- Assist solid waste and water facility permitting engineers and compliance personnel with water quality monitoring strategies and environmental samples for assigned projects.
- Among the tasks they may be assigned are remediation investigations, remedial system designs, feasibility studies, remedial action plans, groundwater monitoring plans and reports, cost estimates, and the writing of technical publications.
- Management objectives must be conveyed to drill teams, and drillers must report management on mechanical issues, hole quality, and surveys.
- If there are any problems, delays, cost or time overruns, customer-requested changes to the scope, liability exposure or anything else vital to the project’s success or security, please notify the project management.
- Proposal writing and cost estimate; remedial systems design; monitoring implementation/construction of corrective actions; technical report writing; and mentoring are all examples of project management.
- Produce requests for more information, if needed, and permits/documents that are technically accurate, clear, intelligible, and compatible with specified rules, instructions, and processes.
- Typical operations include field work planning and preparation, drilling and well installation supervision, recording soil boreholes, and remedial system deployment, operation, and maintenance. Field operations will involve collecting soil and groundwater samples for contamination testing.
- This information will need to be delivered to management on a daily basis in the form of a report. A company’s inventory and sample movement must be carefully monitored.
Skills:
- At solid waste factories and closed landfills, competent to conduct field and site surveys for groundwater monitoring well installation.
- To qualify, you must have one year of GS-07-level experience or education. To achieve this criteria, you must have collected, analyzed, and reported on soil and rock sample data, as well as provided standard data to higher-level professionals, conducted research or investigations, or helped administer mineral locateable and saleable operations.
- Extensive exposure to temperature and humidity extremes, mechanical movement, electrical shock, hazardous chemicals, explosions, gases, or airborne particles may be part of the job duties in a mining or industrial plant environment.
- Completed a four-year program at an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree, with a major in geology and at least 20 additional semester hours in any combination of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological science, structural engineering, mining and petroleum engineering, and computer science.
