Job Description

This job will be in charge of providing high-quality dental treatment to dental members, as well as organizing dental care from both internal and external specialists. Assist dental members in improving their oral health and lowering their risk of developing future dental illness by serving as a resource. As a team member, play a leadership role in dental care delivery.

  • Examines people’s mouths to determine the type of restoration needed, determining the need for dental and prosthetic equipment.
  • Examines people’s teeth and associated oral tissues using x-rays, mouth mirrors, and other diagnostic processes and technologies to identify if they have any pathological or abnormal conditions.
  • In the patient’s dental record, document patient-dentist contacts as they happen so that the record accurately reflects the nature of the contact, the patient’s condition, and the care or treatment given. Make applicable written referrals and, if necessary, get appropriate written approval.
  • Makes necessary suggestions for operations that can’t be performed at the institution.
  • The dentist must be competent to treat infections of the mouth and gums using the most appropriate medical drugs or surgery for the patient.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and team-oriented environment by working with other clinical and non-clinical staff members as needed.
  • Taking advantage of chances for continuing education and training to increase your clinical skills and knowledge.
  • In the best interests of the patient, examine, diagnose, prescribe, and provide (or direct others to do) oral health care services.
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, local, and dental clinic rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing dentistry, including those governing personnel matters, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
  • Auxiliary and clerical workers are well-trained and instructed in their duties. As needed, provides clinic management with comments on the performance of auxiliary and clerical staff.


  • Current, valid dental license (in good standing) in the state where services are provided, or eligibility for licensure in the state where services are delivered.
  • It is necessary to have communication abilities.
  • A valid DEA license is required, which must be current and in good standing.
  • Attain and maintain a high level of clinical dentistry expertise, with a focus on areas that add value in a dental clinic setting, such as pediatric dentistry, emergency dental treatment, extractions, and dental care prevention.
  • The candidate should possess a strong sense of leadership as well as a strong desire to learn and enhance his skills.
