Job Description
Our dentist looks after our patients’ teeth. Follows security procedures as well as the procedures of the institution to which he or she has been assigned. In order to track pay for contract compliance, provides required service documents to the Dental Director or designee.

Qualifications:
- Follow all applicable dental clinic, federal, state, and municipal rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures, including those governing personnel, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
- The dentist must be able to treat oral and gum infections using the medications or procedures that are most suited for each patient.
- Examines people’s mouths to see what type of restoration is needed, as well as whether dental and prosthetic equipment is needed.
- Auxiliary and clerical employees are given suitable training and work direction. As required, provides comments to clinic management on the job performance of auxiliary and clerical staff.
- Collaborate with other clinical and non-clinical professionals as needed to contribute to a team-oriented and collegiate environment.
- Makes required recommendations for operations that the institution cannot accomplish.
- Using x-rays, mouth mirrors, and other diagnostic procedures and technologies, examines people’s teeth and associated oral tissues to see if they have any pathological or abnormal disorders.
- In the patient’s best interests, examine, diagnose, prescribe, and administer (or direct others to perform) oral health care services.
- In the patient’s dental record, document patient-dentist transactions as they happen so that the record accurately reflects the nature of the contact, the patient’s condition, and the care or treatment given. Make appropriate written referrals and, as necessary, seek written consent.
- Participating in continuous education and training opportunities to improve your clinical knowledge and abilities.
Skills:
- Communication skills are essential.
- The applicant must possess a strong sense of leadership as well as a strong desire to learn and enhance his skills.
- Acquire and maintain a high level of clinical dentistry knowledge, with an emphasis on areas that bring value in a dental clinic context, such as pediatric dentistry, emergency dental treatment, extractions, and dental care prevention.
- Current, valid license to practice dentistry in the state where services are delivered (in good standing) or eligibility for licensure in the state where services are rendered.
- CPR certification is kept up to date.
