Job Description
The Front Office Receptionist is responsible for a variety of normal clerical, data entry, file maintenance, and word processing tasks, in addition to answering phones and directing calls, welcoming patients and visitors, providing directions, and answering inquiries. Checks that all patients’ records are up to date and that all required information has been acquired in advance of patient appointments, as per clinic protocol. Responsible for stocking and maintaining a supply of dental hygiene supplies. Serves as a money collector and a dispenser of dental supplies. Manages patient care among various physicians by consulting with them and setting up appointments. Facilitates a pleasant reception area.

Qualifications:
- Takes messages, directs calls, and acts as a general information and help desk for customers. Along with answering common inquiries, they also welcome visitors and patients and help them to the right location.
- Maintains a clean, inviting lobby and other office areas (copy room, kitchen, conference).
- Incoming calls must be answered, filtered, and transferred to the appropriate personnel without delay.
- Provide refreshments and information about where to find the restrooms to all visitors.
- helps keep things running well by getting word out about events, oddities, and ongoing requirements.
- Makes new documents, maintains existing ones, handles processing, and/or makes adjustments.
- Performs a range of routine clerical duties as required by the position, including word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, and document design.
- Copies and/or duplicates materials as requested; may prepare and transmit facsimiles for clinic staff.
- As necessary for the position, may carry out specialized services of a routine clerical type in strict compliance with established procedural rules.
- transports incoming mail, including patient correspondence and other clinic items, to the appropriate recipients.
Skills:
- Preferred: six months of experience working in a medical or dental facility.
- The ability to use a computer is essential for using software in the healthcare and pharmacy industries.
- Possess strong verbal and written (digital) communication skills.
- Capable of drafting and printing standard documents such as letters, labels, etc.
- Three years of experience in administrative, clerical, or a closely related field is required as a bare minimum for this position.
