Full-Time Forensic Accountant, Claim – San Fernando
Job Description
The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Investigations is looking for a forensic accountant (INV). Forensic Accountants will examine complicated financial records to aid DHS OIG fraud and corruption investigations, including bank records, financial statements, and other financial data, as well as holding talks with Federal Agents, US Attorneys, and other Federal Stakeholders about the findings.

Qualifications:
- When necessary, makes contact with the insured or the claims adjuster.
- Having a CPA or CFE license is preferred.
- It is strongly suggested that you obtain a master’s degree in accounting.
- It is necessary to have at least three years of experience as a forensic accountant, certified public accountant, or other related employment.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel on occasion are both important qualities.
- Time management and bill preparation are two administrative duties that must be controlled.
- Strong knowledge of the many legal and regulatory issues that a company could encounter.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is exceptional (GAAP).
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics is required to work in this field.
- Check claim evaluations and reports for accuracy before delivering them to the insurance company.
Skills:
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Analytical and investigative abilities are required.
- Project management abilities are outstanding.
- Communication abilities, both written and spoken, are required.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as the capacity to make mature decisions are also required.
