Job Description

The Budget Manager is in charge of all programmatic components of the program’s internal and external reporting. This role is the principal financial interface with program employees, and it will lead efforts to organize financial information alignment among executive, program, and development personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Financial and budgetary studies in the form of narratives, charts and graphs, and presentations for OFM, legislative staff, senior management, and outside stakeholders. Be correct, complete, and of high quality.

  • Recommendations for budget allocations are submitted for budget modifications after analyzing financial records to determine the resources required to run the program
  • Provide analytical assistance to assigned programs for business case creation, projections, make-or-buy choices, rate analysis, and other financial modeling and analyses in collaboration with the Agency Budget Director.
  • This role oversees the Center’s yearly budget and other funded budgets, as well as the forecasting of monies required for staff, equipment, materials, supplies, and program activities. Monitors and recommends spending approval based on sound financial judgment.
  • Researches, compiles, assesses, and analyzes data for special projects; suggests, in accordance with University policy, the necessary service and personnel levels
  • The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Finance deals with all divisional operational and financial concerns and processes all Agency funding. Under her leadership, the State Attorney’s Budget Planning and Monitoring is implemented (SAO).
  • Creates and analyzes income and expenditure reports; advises supervisory staff on trends; prepares quarterly reports of revenue and expenditures to convert projections to actual expenditures in order to strengthen City budget reports.
  • In charge of overseeing the agency’s daily budget operations for assigned initiatives, Design and execute a business strategy that is financially feasible, while ensuring that the agency meets client satisfaction goals.
  • Operational programs are compared to previous fiscal years’ services, and costs are assessed. Reports containing budget modification recommendations are forwarded to the Supervisor.

Skills:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business/public management, finance, economics, quantitative analysis, or a closely related field;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere; self-motivated and able to manage several projects at once; capacity to work and develop others as a team; ability to work and develop others as a team; Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher) and graphics/desktop and Internet applications skills is desirable.
  • Research-based There has to be a thorough examination of the information collected, discoveries made, theories substantiated by evidence, and laws properly understood and implemented. Writing and speaking in a way that is understandable to the intended audience.
  • Degree in business, accounting, economics, or public administration from an approved institution or university is required.
  • In addition to the four (4) years of professional management experience necessary, professional management skills in establishing, monitoring, and managing an operational budget and grant preparation/administration is essential.
