Job Description
The Financial Specialist reports to the Supervisor, Administration, and must be capable of processing financial transactions in the company’s processing systems, including group and individual billing, automated clearing house (ACH) processing, and cash receipt processing. Maintain and balance group and individual receivables, including processing delinquent accounts and terminating accounts. Manage the collection of group administration fees and the payment of vendors. Invoice for third party administrator (TPA) claims processing and management of claim funding receipt and application.

Qualifications:
- To acquire support and buy-in for systems/solution integration efforts and process reengineering initiatives, communicate and collaborate with various levels of management and users to offer project status, timetable, and problem updates.
- Help with journal entries, expenditure reclassifications, and cash receipts.
- This role provides direction and analysis of financial programs, issues, as well as the planning, scheduling, and execution of major projects involving the analysis, evaluation, and development of financial programs and issues. It also assists in the operation of the Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) Program and the Financial Improvement Audit Readiness (FIAR) Program.
- The ability to effectively establish and execute agency-wide rules and procedures to ensure that funds are acquired, allocated and distributed in an acceptable manner as well as to incur obligations and spend money in accordance with authorized budgets is a prerequisite.
- Maintaining track of the status and growth of projects, as well as doing quality assurance checks on the work you’re doing and the completed result, ensures that everything is as it should be, according to your job description.
- Make monthly fee estimates and 12-month rolling data files for the Associate Analyst.
- Develop and implement solutions and processes that enable for growth and efficiency with the Business, Compliance, and IT teams.
- Make certain that everyone in the organization is aware of the project’s progress, deadline, and challenges so that they can support and assist with system/solution integration efforts as well as changes to the way things are done in the firm.
- Using inactive payment reports from the billing administrator and payroll deduction database, ensure that vendors are paid on time. Benefit plans and bills are summarized regularly with procedures in place to guarantee that the information is accurate. The proper handling of payments from vendors is ensured. Analysis is done on demand.
- For PCMI, Western Growers Assurance Trust (WGAT), as well as individual accounts, rectify any manual changes recorded to the group ledger on the HealthCare Processing System (COBRA).
Skills:
- Understanding of budget formulation and financial management policies, ideas, concepts, advice, methods, techniques, and methodologies
- While you must be familiar with end-user office software, such as calendaring and word processing, you must also be familiar with working with a health-care system that is not yet available on the market.
- Experience managing large-scale initiatives with teams from throughout the world is a plus.
- Competence in designing and arranging work assignments; coaching, inspiring, and guiding subordinate colleagues in the use of automated data processing principles and systems capabilities; and effectively completing tasks.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline may be substituted for the needed experience in the accounting or finance sector.
