Job Description

It is the job of the File Clerk to receive and account for all money coming into the company. Assist the Receivables department by making sure that all rules and procedures are followed and that receivables are collected accurately, quickly, and completely by the File Clerk. Reports and analyses are prepared by the File Clerk, who also serves as a point of contact with relevant contractors, agencies and other divisions of the organization. It is the responsibility of this job to ensure that the right procedures and protocols are followed in relation to the company’s receivables and to enter journal entries and reconcile accounts as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Accurately verifies information against existing records, updates records or ledgers and provides equipment.
  • The File Clerk is responsible for all areas of file maintenance under the direct direction of the File Manager.
  • Create and maintain efficient and accurate records for one’s private and corporate affairs as a potential duty.
  • Monitors client applications to ensure that rules and procedures are being followed, and examines policies to see if they are applicable. Verifies and investigates the eligibility of claims.
  • performs clerical and typing duties associated with the processing of several office documents, such as form letters and requisitions. The envelopes that are mailed out are also checked by this individual.
  • flowcharts are drawn, spreadsheets and work papers are drafted, and statistical analysis is carried out.
  • Answers phones, passes calls to relevant departments, or takes accurate and complete messages from callers. Greets callers and assists them with frequent concerns or complaints.
  • Before entering data, make sure it has been properly assembled, sorted, and double-checked for accuracy. Find and repair errors in data input, or tell your superiors of any issues you discover. The best way to identify errors in your data is to compare it to an original source document or to input it again using a validation template.
  • Income is calculated, and hours of care are determined for which the client is entitled. Clients may be given adequate documentation to ensure that their eligibility is maintained.
  • Scan or enter in data from canceled checks, sales records, or invoices to specific data fields on your computer. The data may also be saved to disks and tapes for future use.

  • Accounting, database, Internet and inventory software, spreadsheet and word processing software, order processing and payroll systems, as well as how to order products and pay your bills are some of the things you need to know to execute this work properly.
