Job Description
Assuring that the kitchen meets its operational and financial goals is the Kitchen Manager’s responsibility. Their daily activities will include motivating their employees, controlling food and labor costs, and maintaining good product quality. Work with coworkers to fulfill sales, cost, guest service, and sanitation objectives. Work with the team to improve guest service and experience, enhance sales and profit margins, reduce costs and hire, develop, train, and retain all employees according to corporate rules, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:
- With the manager’s guidance, develop, implement, and monitor kitchen performance standards.
- Labor, COGS, and other controllable expenditures must be managed in accordance with established standards and criteria.
- Working in close coordination with other members of the restaurant’s management team, including the General Manager, to implement and track the restaurant’s financial budget for kitchen operations.
- Ensures that all employees are able to clearly, correctly, and passionately explain menu items to customers.
- It is also up to the kitchen manager to keep it clean, dispose of food in an environmentally friendly manner, and adhere to all health and safety standards.
- Create shift plans for your coworkers to accommodate a busy bar or restaurant. Schedule labor in accordance with expected company activity, ensuring that all roles are appropriately manned as needed and that labor cost targets are reached. Approves or disapproves requests for shift swaps and special scheduling.
- The brand and business values should be energetically reflected in the actions of all employees, both internally and externally, on a regular basis.
- Ascertain that all colleagues are properly taught at all kitchen stations, including weekly/monthly inventory chores, the year-round and specialty food menu, the KDS system, and rules and procedures for food preparation, cleaning, and side job obligations.
- Preparation and storage of all food items are meticulously maintained by this department. A freezer and cooler manager is responsible for ensuring that all product/inventory is appropriately cycled to ensure freshness in the freezer and coolers.
- In charge of notifying coworkers about side projects and making sure checklists and side chores are completed before coworker’s clock off. Verifies that all food is handled in a safe and sanitary manner by inspecting the facilities where it is prepared and served.
Skills:
- It is necessary to have a high school diploma, a GED, or similar employment experience. It is preferable to have a culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary school.
- Ability to engage with colleagues and the general public in a professional, polite, and successful manner. Strong interpersonal skills and a team attitude are required.
- The ability to educate and manage a team, as well as work under stress. Fast-paced working environments, varied tasks, and constantly shifting circumstances are all part and parcel of the job. Adaptability and quickness of thought are essential.
- You must have at least three years of experience in the hotel industry as a chef. The ability to plan and staff a project is required.
- Microsoft (Excel, Word) and Google (Document/Forms) proficiency is necessary. Knowledge of basic spreadsheet functions and accuracy in data input is required, as is the ability to maintain inventories accurately. The ability to do basic financial transactions is required.
