Job Description

Using python, C, C++, bash shell, or another language relevant to the task, an Engineering Technician will write test execution and analysis code and scripts. These scripts/codes will run tests, collect test artefacts, process test artefacts to decide pass/fail, and save the results in a stack. Work on the stack will be done to consume and visualize the data, as well as report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They’ll be able to work independently, document and present results, and troubleshoot problems.

Qualifications:

• Researches, compiles, and analyses legal descriptions, permit reports, deeds, plats, plans, and other property data; interprets maps and plats; compiles information on grant, permit, and environmental laws compliance; and creates and/or updates various maps using CAD.
• Proposals, cost estimates, contract paperwork, permits, and materials, labor, and equipment expenses are all reviewed to ensure compliance with set requirements. Technical assistance is provided for construction as needed.

• When equipment stops operating or breaks down mechanically, responds to the call and fixes it. Identifying and addressing difficulties (when necessary). Wear and tear components such as motors and control devices are repaired or replaced.
• Engineers and operational data are collected, studied, and analyzed in support of the County’s infrastructure. staking out design components in the field for building projects and conducting field and topographical surveys for design assignments repairs or resurfaces roads based on an assessment of their current state; inspects construction sites to ensure that the plans and project standards are being followed; manages a number of fiefs
• Prepares plans, skilled engineering drawings, specifications, details, maps, plats, and other displays for engineering projects utilizing GPS, GIS, and CADD software; and collaborates with engineers and other employees to provide answers to City infrastructure needs.
• Preliminary findings are produced on technical compliance problems for a range of residential and commercial plans, permits, reports and studies that are assessed. Coordinating with third-party architects and engineers to resolve difficulties and provide direction for code compliance; analyzing and documenting the planned project; and offering suggestions for approval and/or corrective procedures to remedy deviations or violations.
• Writing letters and mailings to explain the project is part of engineering customer service. It also entails reacting to public complaints and inquiries.
• Calculates ratios, volumes, angles, grades, construction quantities, and other project components as required by the needs of the assigned project; gives cost estimates; and verifies third-party contractor calculations utilizing a thorough understanding of engineering principles and procedures.
• The incumbent is responsible for maintaining electronic and hardcopy records of daily department activities; completing project records and design/drawing files for assigned projects; and keeping database files updated as required.

Skills:

• It is necessary to have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer system engineering, or a similar engineering degree is required.
• All tentatively accepted applicants for VA employment in a testing designated position must have a urinalysis to check for illegal drug use prior to their appointment. VA will not accept applicants who refuse to take the test.
• In order to build highways, one must be well-versed in computer hardware and software. AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble, the internet, spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Excel), and word processors (such as Microsoft Word) may be used as required or desired (including Microsoft Word).
• As a sub-professional in surveying, drawing, or civil engineering, you must have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience.
