The candidate with good quantitative modelling abilities and the ability to use statistical/machine learning, econometric, and experimental design methodologies is required for this position. Qualifications:
- In order to analyze and forecast market activity, it is vital to examine prior patterns.
- Collaborate with other economists and senior executives to verbally and in writing communicate and present economic concepts and quantitative data to non-technical audiences.
- Plan the research, organize the implementation, and present the findings depending on issues raised by research sponsors, management, or senior staff.
- It is necessary to gather and examine current data, as well as undertake research to locate new data sources for analytic purposes.
- For well-defined initiatives, conduct surveys to acquire economic information, compare previously given data to current conditions, and identify significant economic features.
- Conduct economic research, evaluate and interpret data, develop benefit estimates, and present findings under the direction of a senior economist.
- Determines and proposes economic and financial data delivery schedules and methods to satisfy specified reporting standards, processes, and procedures; assists in the development of budget and economic goals and objectives that are aligned with strategic planning activities.
- Contribute to the advancement of the department’s toolbox and products to suit business demands.
- It is necessary to do data analysis utilizing mathematical models and statistical approaches.
- Contribute to analytical research projects on a range of economic policy issues on behalf of public and private sector clients (e.g. market research, surveys, project and impact evaluations, etc.)
Skills:
- It is necessary to be familiar with the most recent economics academic research on entrepreneurship, small business, employment, and labor market dynamics in order to succeed in this position.
- Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form is required.
- Three semester hours of statistics, accounting, or calculus were necessary in addition to at least 21 semester hours of economics.
- The candidate should possess a strong sense of leadership as well as a persistent drive to learn and improve his abilities.
- Teaching responsibilities in a college or institution that included both classroom instruction and one of the following: (1) personal research that gave proof of results, (2) supervision of graduate theses in economics, or (3) consulting or advising on technical economics difficulties.
