Job Description
The Museum is looking for a Curator who can help with all elements of research, exhibitions, and programming. In order to develop thought-provoking exhibits and inspirational community events, the Curator of Natural History will need both intellectual and practical vision.

Qualifications:
- Be a part of the museum system’s ongoing efforts to ensure that it continues to satisfy the needs of a diverse audience in terms of cognitive, physical and social/emotional requirements.
- The most recent research in historical scholarship and the most effective methods of interpretation are used. Keeps up with cutting-edge research and new historical arguments. Looks for approaches to program that take use of existing historical information.
- Directs and helps with daily collection management tasks. Oversees the museum’s custodial responsibilities, such as how artifacts, art, photos, and documents are acquired, preserved, and kept safe. They also set up methods for how artifacts, art, photos, and documents are kept safe.
- responsible of planning large-scale exhibition and publication projects that span national and international boundaries, doing research, coordinating exhibition preparation, and looking out lending opportunities.
- Make a positive impact by helping to recruit volunteers, assigning them to appropriate positions, and seeing to it that they get enough training.
- Participating in the long-term creation and preservation of collections and related information.
- In addition to other municipal agencies, outside vendors, programming partners, and educational institutions, it is important to establish and maintain strong, proactive connections with other local agencies.
- To utilize gift certificates or agreements with repositories, you must first make them. Assess presents and purchases, monitors loan agreements, and ensures that certain limits are met..
- Develop and publish peer-reviewed articles based on independent technical study into the history of computers, including its design, technological advancements, cultural importance, and historical significance.
- First-point-of-contact public services are available via phone, email, and in person. Procedures are explained, and basic reference interviews are carried out. Meets departmental deadlines, accuracy, and thoroughness. According to department policy, encounters are referenced in records.
Skills:
- Experience or aptitude in the creation of metadata and the construction of digital collections, finding aids, and other archival description components is a need.
- Maintain a healthy work-life balance, be objective and open to the opinions of others, provide constructive criticism and welcome it, and help foster a sense of camaraderie among the team members. You should also be able to instill confidence in the group and inspire them to work toward common goals, which will help everyone succeed.
- The equivalent of a four-year term of study in museum work or a related subject matter area.
- Ability to operate well in a team environment, creating and maintaining excellent working relationships with coworkers, volunteers, and the general public
- Effective and extraordinary written and verbal communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders; comfort with public speaking; maintains a good working understanding of museum best practices.
