Full-Time Curator – Damanhūr
Job Description
He/she will help to promote the Museum’s purpose by offering leadership in the advancement of academic and public knowledge of photography’s history/impact It is expected that the curator would collaborate with colleagues from all divisions of the Museum, including Curatorial, Education and Public Affairs.

Qualifications:
- Assistance with recruiting, placement of volunteers in suitable roles, and ensuring that volunteers get sufficient training will be provided to the museum system as a whole.
- All aspects of the daily collection management tasks are performed by this person. One of the museum’s many responsibilities is to acquire, conserve, and repair a wide range of items.
- Ensure that all municipal agencies, outside suppliers, programming partners, and educational institutions have good, proactive partnerships and that these ties are maintained.
- Repositories and gift deeds have to be negotiated for contracts. Gift and purchase evaluations, loan agreements, and standards compliance are all handled by this position.
- Participate in the continuous efforts of the museum system to ensure that it continues to meet the demands of a varied audience in terms of cognitive, physical, and social/emotional requirements.
- Research the history of computing on your own and write about it in peer-reviewed journals or books. This includes looking into the design, technology, culture, and historical significance of computers.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest historical scholarship and methods of interpretation. Up-to-date on current scholarship and the most recent historical arguments. Searches for programming applications for the most recent historical data.

Skills:
- The equivalent of a four-year term of study in museum work or a related subject matter area.

- capability of generating metadata for digital collections, finding aids, and other archival descriptions.
