Full-Time Commercial Construction Drywall Finisher – Cape Town
Under the supervision of a supervisor, the Drywall Finisher cleans and maintains a safe and aesthetically acceptable working environment. Preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various building systems are performed independently. Participates in the entire building management program in order to deliver high-quality, cost-effective service with a focus on customer happiness.

- Productivity: Work as part of a team to generate items that meet our quality requirements while also meeting our productivity goals.
- Before final finishing, apply texturizing compounds or primers to walls or ceilings with trowels, brushes, rollers, or a texture hopper. Use metal molding at wall corners to attach wallboard and metal structural components.
- Finishes interior surfaces thoroughly to enhance and protect them, including painting (with rollers, brushes, and spray applications), restoring vinyl wallpaper, staining wood, and applying other finishing materials. Finishes walls and surfaces using hand and power tools, as well as repairs and replaces wood and metal doors that have been damaged, and carries out Finisher-related responsibilities
- Using trowels, wide knives, or spatulas, apply sealing compound between boards or panels, or over cracks, holes, nail heads, or screw heads.
- Being a good steward of our company’s physical assets means maintaining order and cleanliness in your designated area. As part of this, you’ll want to keep an eye out for damage and misuse and report any issues.
- Respect the division’s attendance policies and be on time for the start of your shift at all times.
- Work with the supervisor, customer, other trades, and subcontractors to deliver quality, timely, and cost-effective maintenance.
- Adherence to established safety norms and rules in order to maintain a safe and clean environment. At all times, personal protective equipment (PPE) should be carried (PPE).
- Maintaining contact with your supervisor and reporting any job-related issues, as well as ensuring that all equipment and supplies are used safely and efficiently.
- Assist your Team Leader and Area Coordinator in planning and organizing your area’s production activities by discussing expected material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues.
- Communication skills are essential.
- Interested high school students in these disciplines are urged to take carpentry, shop, mechanical drawing, and basic math classes as part of their curriculum.
- The candidate should have a strong desire to learn and enhance his talents on a continuous basis, as well as a strong sense of responsibility and leadership.
