Job Description

The Child Care Specialist assists parents, coworkers, providers, and other agencies in finding great child care alternatives by providing information and communication. Working with families from various backgrounds, identifying child care requirements, inputting relevant information into ERP, regularly monitoring child care schedules, and serving as the team lead for the data management system are all responsibilities of the Child Care Specialist.

  • Child care providers are informed and explained of concerns that need corrective action, and a plan for appropriate remedial action is made and given deadlines for solutions.
  • Co-plans appropriate learning activities for groups of children depending on their age, group size, composition, and other characteristics, in order to implement the center’s educational philosophy.
  • You should evaluate your calendar to determine whether your organisation needs to do health and safety monitoring inspections over the weekends or at night.
  • Social workers and investigators work together to look into reports of child abuse and neglect and gather evidence to support such reports.
  • To the State, he recommends or rejects new child care provider applications, as well as the termination of existing registrations.
  • To maintain compliance with child care rules, little engagement is required with owners, administrators, boards, and child care providers in a specific geographic region.
  • Create an atmosphere that fosters self-confidence, trust, and respect for others in order to encourage them to grow and develop their potential.
  • In coordination with the division and the information technology department, is responsible for maintaining data on child care registration.
  • Child care providers are inspected and evaluated to verify that they are adhering to state and federal standards and laws.
  • Training, responding to inquiries, and spreading child care-related information are some of the ways in which this position assists facility owners with technical issues.


  • It is necessary to have communication abilities.
  • Experience working with low-income families and familiarity with the Child Care Resource and Referral Service are both highly desirable qualifications.
  • A successful communication skillset that includes the ability to effectively explain information to groups of managers, clients, board of directors, and the general public while also responding to questions
  • Among the skills necessary for success in this profession are the ability to read and analyze business periodicals, as well as technical processes and regulatory requirements.
  • A Master’s Degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate academic work is required. Four years of administration or teaching experience in an education program, or affiliation with one.
