Qualifications:

  • The employee’s class of work has a wide range of duties and responsibilities, some of which may not be explicitly stated in the job description, but which fit within the broad occupational category and responsibility level.
  • Analyzes financial records and data on human expenses to calculate the financial resources necessary to conduct the program and submits suggestions for budget allocations in order to make budget revisions.
  • In charge of the agency’s daily budget operations for assigned projects, Involved in the formulation and execution of business strategies that are financially feasible and allow the agency to satisfy customer satisfaction standards.
  • Provide analytical support for program business cases, forecasts, make-or-buy decisions, rate studies, and other financial modeling and analysis in collaboration with the Agency Budget Director.
  • Control and management of the Center’s yearly budget as well as other funded budgets; forecasting of monies required for personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitoring and recommending approval of expenditures on the basis of financial judgment.
  • Operational programs are examined for comparison and expenses are evaluated in respect to services provided in prior fiscal years. Reports are sent to the Supervisor with suggestions for budget adjustment.
  • Reports on income and spending are made and analyzed. Supervisory staff are given advice on trends, and quarterly reports on income and spending are made so that estimates can be changed to actual spending to improve City budget reports.
  • Monitors and evaluates programming activities and processes; investigates, compiles, examines, and analyzes data for special projects; recommends appropriate service and personnel levels.
  • Prepare written narratives, charts/graphs, and presentation materials for OFM, legislative staff, senior management, and external stakeholders. Check for correctness, completeness, and quality
  • A division’s operational and financial difficulties are handled by the Office of Management and Budget Office of Finance, which processes all Agency grants. Planning and management of the state attorney’s budget (SAO).

Skills:

  • A bachelor’s or higher degree in finance, business, accounting, or public administration from an approved institution or university is required.
  • Research/analysis Evaluate and develop conclusions from data; support suggestions with facts and analysis; interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures Ability to speak and write clearly to engage an audience.
  • In order to qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of four (4) years of professional management experience, as well as expertise of how to create and manage budgets and grants.
  • Experience in a comparable job, strong organizational and people skills, outstanding communication and writing abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced workplace, self-motivated and able to manage several duties at once, capacity to work and grow others as a team are necessary. Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) and graphics/desktop and Internet applications is desirable.
  • You must have a bachelor’s degree and be accredited in one of the following fields: accounting, business/public management, financial and economic analyses, etc.
