Qualifications:
- Maintain positive working relationships with partners, administrative support employees, the Finance Department, and the billing team by collaborating with attorneys and billing staff as appropriate.
- PSCO’s CIAC Extension Policy will be successful if PSCO’s internal resources and relationships are managed properly. For tariff compliance, provide leadership and assistance to extension colleagues. Develop, discuss, and execute consistent process improvements in response to changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls. Verify that CIAC payments are being collected and processed correctly, and then authorize refunds if necessary. CIAC expansions need prompt communication to both internal and external organizations. Make that everyone involved in the CIAC extension process receives adequate training on the matter.
- Attain quantifiable results in the areas of training, compliance, financial impact, audit findings, and customer satisfaction. Make suggestions to top management and convey them to them. Collaborate with other organizations to identify and explore possibilities for process improvement and integration of CIAC extension issues into other work processes and initiatives.
- Manages the creation and implementation of policies, procedures, and processes for the CIAC extension department in order to improve performance, regulatory and policy compliance, and customer satisfaction. She is responsible for the standardization of PSCO’s processes and policies. Gaps in rules, procedures, and processes that have an impact on operational performance are actively discovered and addressed.
- Involve yourself in new staff recruiting and training and design instructional materials for attorneys, secretaries, and legal assistants in order to better understand billing methods.
- Recommendations for writing off old or contested debts and maintaining billing rates properly
- Maintain a thorough awareness of client billing and payment terms, discount agreements, and lawyer and client preferences to ensure that bills are received on time and correctly, and that client and lawyer preferences are appropriately handled.
- Oversee direct reports’ schedules and overtime, including providing mentoring and training and conducting annual performance assessments for billing analysts (and other offices as assigned).
- Recognize training and compliance support requirements for departments and customers. Ascertain that enough resources are available to satisfy these requirements. Provide comments and suggestions on problems affecting the organization’s financial and customer satisfaction objectives, as well as regulatory compliance to other areas of the company.
- Assist the Senior Billing Manager in establishing and maintaining accurate records of standard billing processes and procedures.
Skills:
- Identifying and resolving issues by doing root-cause analyses in conjunction with other departments.
- A bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in the utility industry are a must for this position.
- Candidates must be familiar with advanced Microsoft Excel features such as pivot tables, charts, graphs, and computations, as well as Aderant or another billing industry standard collection software package and Microsoft Office.
- In order to be successful, applicants must have good verbal, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
