- The urgency of calls is evaluated and calls are redirected accordingly.
- Perform patient check-in and out procedures, schedule follow-up visits, and collect payment.
- Performs routine maintenance on all medical and laboratory equipment and supplies, including troubleshooting, cleaning, stocking, and reordering when necessary.
- Type memoranda, letters, position summaries, flowcharts, graphs, deviation reports, and policies and procedures to keep directors, managers, and committee members up-to-date.
- As needed, perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, photocopying, collating, and project assembly.
- carries out administrative or clerical tasks as given, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
- aids in the “”end of the day balancing/closing”” procedure and the preparation of deposits for courier pickup.
- Schedules referral appointments as necessary or per the provider’s instructions.
- Collection of copayments, deductibles, and account balances, as well as completion of necessary paperwork and posting of charges.
- Medical dimensions handle all billing and coding exchanges with the clinic for research purposes.
- It is preferred that you have worked as a Medical Office Assistant for at least three years.
- Must be able to operate effectively under pressure and take appropriate action.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision are required.
- A working knowledge of computers, printers, and fax machines is necessary for this position.
- Applicants having a diploma from an accredited high school and a year of experience working as a medical assistant will be given priority.
